Assessment is used across the phases to support teaching and learning. Assessment empowers our teachers to set educational objectives as a phase, team or whole school initiative. Assessment data is used to set targets, help children reach their next steps, inform planning and resources and give children the support they need.
At St. Dominic’s we have developed a curriculum that is broad, engaging and enjoyable. Children develop knowledge, skill and understanding whilst making progress.
The school carefully monitors the progress of each student and work is assessed both formally and informally when appropriate. Teachers and support staff continuously monitor and evaluate children’s progress in all subjects through marking, feedback and observations. Children are encouraged to play an active part in assessing their own progress and setting targets.
